Fennies Nursery Woking was purchased in 2015 for a sum in the region of £1,500,000 as a redundant Victorian cooking school in need of substantial renovation & adaptation.
The building was stripped back to bare brick internally and several external elements of brickwork were adapted to accommodate the 80m2 extension which was added to the building to increase its capacity.
The development cost was £1,180,818 including professional fee. This figure was inclusive of complete electrical rewiring, a side and rear extension, new glazing throughout the building and a complete and a full internal strip out.
Fennies Nursery Woking was nominated for the Retrofit Design Awards for its outstanding design in adapting an dilapidated building back to its original appearance.
The garden also received significant refurbishment and was winner of ‘Best outdoor space’ at the Nursery of the year awards.
We worked alongside CF architects for this project.
